We always have questions, sometimes find answers, always get the experience. I definitely agree with Scott, it's all about experience.
I've read a great book on this very subject (my wife's recommendation) title is "Home with God" by Neale Donald Walsch.
One of the main points of this book says that we (our souls) come here to gain experience in physical realm.

We are left with two things: experience and reverie. We should also have better questions but I hope that by then I will care less about the questions and answers and more about the eternal now.
